„Just another day in Paradise”
„Just another day in Paradise”
Facts! Winter! Outside -8 degrees Celsius. Chilly weather. Inside: warm, friendly, nice companion. Gays, lesbians, transsexuals. But this day was not about „being gay”. This day was much more about having sports and having fun…. a lot of fun.
On this beautiful, sunny but chilly day of January 23rd, the hungarian gay community found itself in an arena in Buda site of our Capital.
After several years it become a nice custom, and year by year there are more and more participant on this event.
„ The bigger the better” as the english say. I wouldn’t point of the size of the….
I would much more mean about the quantity. I think this time there were more than 200 people loving sports! And we all had „spaß” – as the german say.
I am sometimes cheking around my neighbours, family, firend collegues. There are so many things they don’t want to or they are unable to understand about us. Our feelings, our behaviour, customs, sexual culture. But one thing we all agree. Sport can make stop wars, stop violence, stop hate. This was seen on Saturday. Our community is also divided sometimes. But this Saturday there were absolutely no „bad things”. I was seeing this guys playing, laughing, enjoying each-other.
everyone could try a lot of sports like badminton, swimming, handball, basketball, and some funny competitions.
And suddenly I decided to be part of all kind of events like this.
And one thing came into my mind in that moment. The 2012 games got the right place. Yes! It is called …… BUDAPEST!!!
