Swimming
The swimming section is one of the founders of Atlasz Sport Club. Besides visiting the trainings many of our swimmers took part in international LGBT contests (EuroGames tournaments [Munich, Antwerp, Utrecht, Barcelona], Vienna Valentine [Vienna], XMAS Tournament [Frankfurt]).
We also organized LGBT swimming contests under the name Budapest Splash.
We are looking forward to both boys and girls. Everyone is welcomed to join from the beginners to the more skilled swimmers! :)
What is a training like?
The training is being hold in a pool reserved entirely for our session with the dimensions 25m and 5 lanes. We swim about 1 hour. Two of our trainers take care of the swimmers during the training. One is dedicated to the beginner group, and another one is for the intermediate / advanced level swimmers.
A beginner by our terms is a person who is able to swim at least one of the four standard strokes (breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke and butterfly). Their training is about to learn the missing strokes and to improve the technique of the already known ones.
The intermediate and advanced level swimmers are able to swim in all of the standard strokes. Their trainings is about a bit less of improving technics. They often swim against the clock. (So it is also an aim to improve performance at these levels.)
The advanced level trainings are very similar to the intermediate ones. The difference is that the advanced level swimmers often get longer distances or more difficult exercises. Furthermore advanced swimmers are the most likely to register for LGBT swimming tournaments. For this reason our trainer can help during their preparation (even more stress on swimming against the clock, practising how to dive to the pool or how to turn underwater at the end of the lanes, desribing tournament rules, etc.).
You can also join if you can't swim at all. In this case further discussions are required about the details.
After doing sport the company often visit a nice pub nearby to have some drink, meal and conversation.
Where?
We hold our training in one of the inner districts of Budapest with good connection to public transportation.
When?
We swim one time a week on Sunday evenings at 8 p.m. (We are gathering in the lobby of the pool from about 7:45 p.m.).

The fee for the first occasion is 1000 HUF. From the second occasion so far the fee is 1500 HUF for non Atlasz members. For Atlasz members it remains 1000 HUF. The annual membership fee of Atlasz is 5000 HUF.
